We work with the best watchmakers in the country.
Your piece goes to the bench that suits its calibre. Quoted in writing first, and never polished without your word.

On the bench
Nothing is done to a piece that you have not signed off.
Every watch is opened and read on the bench before a figure is quoted. The quote is itemised, you approve it line by line, and only that work is done.
Send it inHow we work
The right hands, and nothing done in a hurry.
Independent specialists
Not a service counter and not a queue. Watchmakers with brand training and decades on the bench, whom we have used for years.
Matched to the movement
A 1960s Patek and a modern Daytona do not belong in the same hands. We choose the bench for the calibre in front of us.
A quote before any work
Itemised, in writing, with a timeframe. Nothing is replaced, refinished or opened further until you have approved it.
Correct parts
Brand originals wherever they can still be had. Where they cannot, we tell you exactly what is going in, and why, before it does.
Insured throughout
Covered from your door to the bench and back, tracked at every leg, and photographed on arrival and on return.
Records that hold value
A written service record returns with the piece. It stays in the file, and it shows up again in the price when you sell.
The process
From your wrist and back again.
- 01
Bring it in
By appointment in Melbourne or Singapore, or an insured collection from your address. The piece is photographed and condition-noted the moment it arrives.
- 02
Assessment
Opened and read on the bench. Rate, amplitude and beat error across positions, case and gasket condition, and an honest account of what a previous service may have left behind.
- 03
The quote
Itemised in writing, with a timeframe. You approve it line by line. Decline, and the piece comes home exactly as it left, unpolished and unaltered.
- 04
The work
Full strip, clean, lubricate and reassemble. Worn parts replaced, seals renewed, and pressure tested where the case allows. Only what was signed off is done.
- 05
Timing and return
Several days on the timing machine before it goes anywhere. Returned in person or under our policy, with a written record and a warranty on the work.
Reading the symptoms
What does it actually need?
Most of what reaches the bench arrives as one of six complaints. This is where each one usually leads.
The movement has the final say once the caseback is off.
The standard
What is included, and what we will never do.
A full service
Every quoted service is a complete overhaul, not a clean and a battery. The movement comes apart to the last screw.
- · Movement stripped, cleaned, lubricated and reassembled.
- · Mainspring, gaskets and worn components renewed as required.
- · Regulated across positions, then run for several days before release.
- · Pressure tested where the case design permits.
- · Written service record and a warranty on the work performed.
Bracelet refinishing, dial restoration and case work are quoted separately, and only ever on request.
The lines we hold
Most of the damage done to good watches is done by well-meaning service departments. A collector should not have to ask for the following.
- · No polishing. Sharp lugs and honest wear are not faults to be corrected.
- · No replacing an aged dial, hands or bezel insert to make a piece look newer.
- · No aftermarket parts substituted quietly for originals.
- · No relume, and no touching patina that took forty years to arrive.
- · Nothing removed from the watch is discarded. It comes back with the piece.
Each of these is available if you want it. None of it happens unless you ask.
When to bring it in
A guide, not a rule.
Intervals are a starting point. A watch that is keeping good time and running quietly is often better left alone, and the bench will tell you so rather than sell you a service.
Send it in
Send it to the right hands.
Tell us the reference and what it is doing. We will tell you whether it needs the bench at all.
